Over the last two weeks our school community have 'gathered as one' to support our students receiving First Eucharist and raise funds for the MND Foundation.
The sacramental journey for our students begins in the home and our school/parish support this journey. Our teachers plan and prepare learning experiences to deepen the understanding of the sacrament for each student.
The school/parish preparation includes a Family Information Evening and a Reflection Day. Both of these experiences are supported by our Parish Priest - Father Justel and our Religious Education Leader - Miss Lauren Considine.
The students received Eucharist for the first time at our two weekend Parish Masses. This year we were blessed to have the talent of Gen Bryant singing at both of our Masses.
Congratulations to each of our students, their families and our school staff for planning such meaningful liturgies.
One of our families send goodbye to their wonderful dad and husband who passed away a couple of weeks ago. It was a privilege to support this family at the funeral recently.
One of our parents suggested that the school community have a 'Touch of Blue' Day to raise money for MND and display our support for the family. Last Thursday, everyone (staff and students) was invited to wear a touch of blue or a MND beanie to school.
The funds raised will be forwarded to the MND Foundation.
Thank you to everyone in our Parish and school communities for 'gathering as one' to support others in our community.
