Our teachers continually seek innovative opportunities for each student to be reflective, imaginative and active in their learning.

We are pleased to say that Dr Nathaniel Swain is continuing to support our school this year in the areas of writing and knowledge rich curriculum.

In 2026, we are also part of Jocelyn Seamer's Resource Room. A resource to support our Structured Literacy Program Prep-Year 6.

Planning and teaching is based on the principles of the Science of Learning.

We have a systematic synthetic phonics program in the Prep-Year 2 and offer Tier 2 Intervention - MultiLit.

Our students in Years 3-6 are involved in PhOrMeS Word Reading and Spelling.

Pre and post student assessments are continually carried out by our staff to ensure that each student is taught at their point of need. Our staff are involved in Case Management meetings on a regular basis. Student achievements and challenges are shared at these meetings so that all staff can support all students.

Holy Family has a number of Learning Support Staff who are guided by the class teacher to either support or extend students.

We promote a culture of knowledge and inquiry based learning ensuring that all students gain the knowledge, skills and deep understandings required for future success. At the end of each term our families are invited into all classes to celebrate the students learning achievements.

This year we are beginning the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) Framework to enhance our existing Behaviour Curriculum.

We are dedicated to quality teaching which integrates digital technologies, engaging students in ways not previously possible.

New learning and teaching possibilities are created, enhancing achievement and extending interactions with local and global communities.

The learning spaces are of the highest quality and our learning environment affirms the dignity of each person where learning is lifelong and personal.

In our learning community of staff, students and parents, we aim to meet the needs of all students by providing an inclusive environment which develops students intellectually, physically, socially and spiritually leading them to a love of learning.

We strive to create successful learners who are empowered to be creative, confident and responsible citizens who positively engage with and contribute to society. This is enhanced by the many extra curricular opportunities we provide for our students.

Our students are also provided with numerous opportunities to extend and challenge their knowledge and skills - RoboCup, STEM Club, Curriculum Extension (Mathematics and English), ...

At Holy Family School we recognise the development of the whole person and work together to encourage and develop positive attitudes to faith, life and learning.

We view Religious Education as the cornerstone of all we do in the education and formation of our students. At Holy Family we celebrate the unity between the parish and school and encourage active participation in the life of the school and faith community.
